“Baby” è un film muto del 2020, diretto da Juanma Bajo e scritto insieme a Elisa Marinas. I suoi interpreti principali sono Rosie Day, Harriot Sansom Harris e Natalia Tena. Nonostante è un film “muto” è diretto molto bene e non annoia, ha un ritmo molto veloce e gli attori danno una notevole interpretazione. Il film in se è molto inquietante per il suo genere e tratta di un argomento molto delicato in modo quasi fiabesco

TRAMA:
Una ragazza tossico dipendente partorisce da sola in un momento della sua vita molto complicato, purtroppo il suo esaurimento per la droga la porta a liberarsi del bambino in un modo molto brutale, ma con il passare del tempo Neska, si rende conto di aver fatto una grandissimo errore

PERSONAGGI PRINCIPALI:

Neska/Rosie Day: E’ una tossico dipendente, che partorisce in un momento molto delicato della sua vita e questo la porta a fare un gesto estremo

Harriet Sansom Harries/Emakumea: E’ colei che gestisce i traffici di bambini e i loro pagamenti e anche la padrona di una casa ancestrale in mezzo alla foresta, le ragazze che sono con lei vivono succubi e manovrate da lei specialmente Albinoa

Albinoa/Natalia Tena: E’ una ragazza a servizio di Emakumea, praticamente succube di lei e sempre pronta ai suoi ordini e l’aiuta con il traffico illecito

Neskatoa/Mafalda Carbonell: E’ una bambina che vive in casa insieme a Albinoa e Emakumea che ingenuamente è ignara, per l’età che ha, a quello che architettano le sue conviventi, ma essendo cresciuta da loro ha un briciolo di furbizia in più

Il film aggredisce subito con qualcosa che non ci aspettiamo, Baby non ha dialoghi anche se ci sono delle urla molto raramente. La musica è molto probabilmente una delle più belle di Bingen Mendizabal e Koldo Urlarte che parla al posto degli attori. Il regista racconta qualcosa che s’avvicina ad una fiaba, ma allo stesso tempo rispecchia la realtà: una ragazza drogata decidere di vendere suo figlio/a, che a partorito da sola, ad una oscura associazione stregonesca, ma ha una riflessione ci ripensa e va in missione salvataggio, cosi s’insinua in un luogo sinistro dove abitano tre donne che di fatto sono: “La maturità (Emakumea), la gioventù (Albinoa) e la fanciullezza (Neskatoa). L’abitazione sembra un labirinto, una trappola, una specie di ragnatela che divora le proprie prede. Lo stile di regia è sublime, ad ogni inquadratura cerca la meraviglia e la bellezza del mondo , dal piccolo al grande, dal microcosmo al macrocosmo

“Baby” is a 2020 silent film, directed by Juanma Bajo and co-written with Elisa Marinas. Its main performers are Rosie Day, Harriot Sansom Harris and Natalia Tena. Although it is a “silent” film it is directed very well and is not boring, it has a very fast pace and the actors give a remarkable interpretation. The film itself is very disturbing for its genre and deals with a very delicate subject in an almost fairytale way

PLOT:
A drug addict girl gives birth alone in a very complicated moment of her life, unfortunately her drug exhaustion leads her to get rid of the baby in a very brutal way, but as time goes by Neska realizes that she has made a huge mistake

MAIN CHARACTERS:
Neska / Rosie Day: She is a drug addict, who gives birth in a very delicate moment of her life and this leads her to make an extreme gesture

Harriet Sansom Harries / Emakumea: She is the one who manages the trafficking of children and their payments and also the mistress of an ancestral house in the middle of the forest, the girls who are with her live under her control and especially Albinoa

Albinoa / Natalia Tena: She is a girl in the service of Emakumea, practically dominated by her and always ready for her orders and helps her with illicit trafficking

Neskatoa / Mafalda Carbonell: She is a little girl who lives at home with Albinoa and Emakumea who is naively unaware, for her age, of what her cohabitants architect, but having grown up with them she has a shred of cunning more

The film immediately attacks with something we do not expect, Baby has no dialogue even if there are screams very rarely. The music is most likely one of the finest by Bingen Mendizabal and Koldo Urlarte speaking for the actors. The director tells something that approaches a fairy tale, but at the same time reflects reality: a drugged girl decides to sell her son / daughter, who gave birth alone, to an obscure witch association, but has a reflection, she thinks about it and he goes on a rescue mission, so he insinuates himself in a sinister place where three women live who in fact are: “Maturity (Emakumea), youth (Albinoa) and childhood (Neskatoa). The house looks like a labyrinth, a trap, a kind of spider web that devours its prey. The directing style is sublime, in every shot he seeks the wonder and beauty of the world, from small to large, from microcosm to macrocosm
