Analisi Simbolica di “Squid Game”

Giochi Coreani
La cultura coreana è presente soprattutto nei giochi infatti la serie viene rappresentata in un ambientazione fanciullesca come se si trovassero in un immenso parco giochi, i tre giochi tipici coreani sono quelli su cui si è concentrato per maggior parte la serie. Il primo gioco è il “Ddakji” diventato un vero e proprio fenomeno dalla rete, il secondo è la “Sfida del Caramello” e infine chi chiude la serie è il “Gioco del Calamaro” che il cui campo da gioco ha le forme di un triangolo, un cerchio e un quadrato
Il sistema capitalista
Squid Game viene paragonato al film di Parasite soprattutto per mettere in evidenza l’ingiusto disequilibrio che c’è fra le classi sociali, i giocatori sono tutti reietti, indebitati e che vivono in quartieri malfamati.
Dopo di che divengono spettacolo per dei ricchi e viziati occidentali con maschere da predatori, i protagonisti sono abbandonati alla società stessa
Dinamiche di potere
La maggior parte dei partecipanti ha la situazione disperata fuori dal gioco cosi quando gli danno la possibilità di tornare lo fanno perchè non hanno più nulla da perdere: Seong ha firmato un contratto per la donazione degli organi se non paga il debito, Chong è ricercato dalla polizia, Ali ha ferito involontariamente il suo capo e non voleva più pagargli lo stipendio cosi si è costretto a far fuggire sua moglie e suo figlio e in Squid Game vige la legge del più forte fra i giocatori si creano alleanze e si disfano in un ordine preciso.
Quando i più forti prendono il comando e i più deboli si uniscono a loro sono i primi a soccombere succede specialmente nella squadra di Jang Deok-su quando vuole “proteggere” il medico Byeong-gi con il fine di sfruttare la sua alleanza con le guardie, ma anche in quella di Gi-Hun: Ali viene imbrogliato da Sang-woo dopo che fra oro due era nata una fiducia e infine San-woo ucciderà un altro concorrente, un esperto che vetraio che lo aveva aiutato nella prova del ponte di vetro.
N° 1 e numero 456
Sono rispettivamente Seung Gi-Hun e Oh Il Nam, sono due personaggi completamente opposti, ma complementari.
Gi Hun è costretto a mettere i palio la sua vita per pagare le cure di sua figlia mentre Il-Nam è diverso anche se anche lui non ha più nulla da perdere perchè è sta morendo per un tumore al cervello il suo ultimo desiderio è quello di divertirsi “un’ultima volta”, infatti alla fine si scoprirà che lui è uno degli organizzatori dello Squid-Game, un finanziatore che si è reso conto di quanto la sua vita fosse vuota. Gi-Hun è intenerito dalla presenza dell’uomo al gioco, ma nella puntata del Ggambu tutto cambia e Gi-Hum ne approfitta dello stato mentale di Il Nam per vincere la prova e quindi svela chi è veramente. Anche se lo Squid-Game è solo un gioco per dare puro divertimento ai ricchi il libero arbitrio sembra importante per Il Nan e nell’loro ultimo incontro da la possibilità di scegliere se giocare onestamente o imbrogliarlo oppure una regola del gioco prevede che il gioco può fermarsi se tutti sono d’accordo quindi 100 per tornare a casa e 100 per rimanere, Il Nam vota per tornare a casa sapendo che chi vorrà tornare potrà farlo
Ciclicità degli eventi
Dopo la visione della serie i destini dei vari personaggi molte altre scene trovano il loro collocamento: Gi-Hum inizialmente perde la prima scommessa ai cavalli, ma vince quando ritenta la seconda volta come esattamente succede nello Squid-Game. Ali riesce a scappare con i soldi mentre nel gioco vediamo che non è cosi fortunato perchè è proprio Sang-Woo che se ne approfitta di lui, Sae-Byeok viene trafitta un coltellino dopo che aveva puntato alla gola lei stessa l’uomo che le aveva promesso che le avrebbe riportato in corea la madre
Il Finale
Gi-Hum si reca all’aeroporto per salire sull’areo che lo porterà da sua figlia, ma in quel momento Gi-Hum ha un colore rosso per i capelli il quale simboleggia la rabbia folle che lo spinge a lasciare sua figlia. Il finale aperto resta a simboleggiare che a lui è intenzionato a fermare i giochi e on come il Front Man che dopo che a vinto si occupa dell’evento. Anche la tecnica registica è simbolistica perchè è ripreso di spalle come lasciarsi alle spalle quello che ha vissuto solo dopo che lui decide di non prendere l’areo l’inquadratura si sposta sul suo viso per fare capire le sue intenzioni
