Su “Best Streaming” di Maggio è stata fatta un’intervista a Elizabeth Moss, la star del “Racconto dell’Ancella”. La rivista la descrive come una determinata, combattiva e un’irrudicibile femminista, i tratti distintivi dell’attrice che ha iniziato la sua scalata a Hollywood da quando aveva otto anni e da allora ha avuto parecchie esperienze sul set e ultimamente ha sperimentato anche la regia.

Il pubblico, alla quarta stagione la riconosciuta subito come “June Osborne”, una coraggiosa ancella che lotta contro il regime teocratico e totalitario del Regime di Gilead, che sottomette le ancelle a bisogni sessuali e riproduzione di ricche famiglie, ma in passato Elisabeth Moss ebbe dei ruoli molto importanti come la tenace segretaria in “Mad Man” e anche altri ruoli come: Josiah Bartlet nelle serie di “West Wing”, la giovane segretaria in “Mad Man”, Polly in “Ragazze interrotte”, Kitty Tayler in “Noi”, Anne in “The Square”, Cecilia nell’ “L’uomo invisibile” e infine June Osborne in “The Handmaid’s Tale/Il Racconto Dell’Ancella”.

In attesa dell’arrivo della quarta stagione Elisabeth Moss ha raccontato all’intervista, di Best Streaming 05/2021, come ha avuto l’occasione di mettersi in gioco come regista e come i suoi mentori l’hanno guidata in quest’esperienza.

Il tema principale della stagione sono diversi, main particolare è evidenziato quello del potere, e di chi lo detiene, che è quello più importante, che man mano che prosegue la vicenda diventa sempre di più pericoloso, perchè sia June che zia Lydia sono alla ricerca del potere però con obiettivi diversi.

La serie si rispecchia nella realtà degli Stati Uniti del momento mentre nel libro è ambientato nel 1985, e la tempistica era rilevante nella serie proprio per simboleggiare i fatti ancora molto temporanei.
